From energy and waste audits to biodiversity projects and beach clean-ups, the ISCB Eco Committee turns ideas into action — perfectly aligned with our Outdoor Learning and Forest School approach.
At International School Costa Brava, students don’t just take part — they lead. Our Eco Committee is a student-led engine for positive change: members identify sustainability challenges on campus, propose improvements and put them into practice. Recent initiatives include waste and energy audits, habitat-boosting work in our school woodland, community beach clean-ups and #ZeroWaste campaigns that make sustainability visible every day.
This hands-on work sits naturally within ISCB’s Outdoor Learning and Forest School ethos. When young people learn in and with nature, they develop curiosity, resilience and a lifelong sense of stewardship. Caring for the planet becomes part of their routine — from monitoring energy use to enhancing biodiversity.
Crucially, the Eco Committee is one expression of a wider culture of student voice at ISCB. Alongside our Student Council, small class sizes and personalised guidance ensure every learner is heard, supported and challenged to make a difference. When students have a voice, school has a future — and our community, and coastline, are stronger for it.
