A Special Outdoor Learning Day at ISCB
On 8 May, International School Costa Brava joined the worldwide celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday with a very special Outdoor Learning Day for EYFS and Primary pupils.
Inspired by Sir David’s lifelong dedication to the natural world, the pupils stepped outside the classroom and embraced a day of discovery, curiosity and hands-on learning in the fresh air.
For this memorable occasion, the school grounds were transformed into one large outdoor classroom, where nature became the main source of inspiration.
Throughout the day, children explored, observed and connected with the environment around them, reflecting on the importance of caring for the planet and protecting the living world.
With no desks and no walls, learning took place through movement, exploration and wonder.
Honouring Sir David Attenborough’s Legacy
This celebration was also a meaningful opportunity to recognise Sir David Attenborough’s extraordinary contribution to environmental education.
For generations, his work has inspired children and adults alike to love, respect and protect the Earth.
Learning Beyond the Classroom at ISCB
At International School Costa Brava, Outdoor Learning Day highlighted the school’s commitment to learning beyond the classroom, eco-education and the development of responsible global citizens.
Through experiences like these, pupils are encouraged to develop curiosity, confidence and a lifelong connection with nature.
