Where the learning adventure begins

International School Costa Brava is preparing for an inspiring summer with the launch of Planet Pioneers, its new nature-based summer day camp for children aged 3 to 10.

Designed around sustainability, outdoor learning and holistic child development, the five-week programme transforms the school’s forest school environment and farm into vibrant spaces for discovery, creativity and meaningful action.

More than a traditional summer camp, Planet Pioneers invites children to become young explorers and changemakers. Throughout the programme, they will connect with nature, learn through direct experience, and develop a stronger understanding of how to care for the world around them. The camp is rooted in the idea that children learn best when they can observe, interact, create and reflect in real environments. At ISCB, the forest and farm are not simply beautiful surroundings: they are active classrooms.

The programme has been carefully designed to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, curiosity, creativity, innovation, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, cooperation and respect. Each week has its own independent theme, allowing families to enrol flexibly while ensuring that every child enjoys a complete and valuable learning experience, whether they attend for one week or all five.

Five weeks, five inspiring themes

Week 1: Planet Explorers – Understanding Our World

The camp begins with a week of exploration, curiosity and connection with nature. Children discover ecosystems, animals, plants, soil and water across the ISCB forest and farm. Through sensory activities, guided exploration and outdoor play, they develop observation skills, respect for living things and a natural sense of wonder.

Week 2: Eco Heroes in Action – Protecting What We Love

During the second week, children focus on sustainability and responsibility. They take part in eco-missions linked to recycling, water care, energy awareness and caring for plants and animals. This week encourages teamwork, sustainable habits and the understanding that small everyday actions can make a real difference.

Week 3: Future Makers Lab – Designing Smarter Ways to Live

Innovation takes centre stage in week three. Inspired by the natural world, children imagine better ways of living with the planet by designing future farms, schools and eco-friendly communities. Using natural and recycled materials, they create models and prototypes while developing creativity, collaboration and design thinking.

Week 4: Human Superpowers – Living Together Better

The fourth week explores the social and emotional skills that help us thrive together. Through group activities, role play and reflection, children strengthen empathy, communication, cooperation, self-confidence and self-expression. It is a week dedicated to building community and helping children recognise the importance of relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Week 5: Planet Leaders – Taking Action for Tomorrow

In the final week, children turn learning into action. They reflect on what they have discovered and create small projects, campaigns or practical ideas that show how they can make a positive impact in everyday life. Leadership, initiative, communication and presentation skills all come to the fore as children finish the programme feeling empowered and inspired.

Adapted to every age group

Planet Pioneers has been designed for children aged 3 to 10, with activities carefully adapted to different developmental stages. Younger children, aged 3 to 6, focus more on sensory exploration, movement and play, while older children, aged 7 to 10, engage in deeper reflection, collaborative creation and teamwork. This age-sensitive structure ensures that each child feels both supported and challenged.

The camp runs over five separate weeks, from 29 June to 31 July 2026, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Families may choose from one to five weeks. Pricing starts at €300 for one week, with reduced rates for longer enrolments:

The fee includes daily nutritious lunch, all activity materials, and full access to the forest school and farm facilities.
