Costa Brava. International School Costa Brava (ISCB) celebrated its fifth anniversary with a vibrant, family-centred gathering on campus, honouring five years of warm, inspiring and international education on the Costa Brava.
The day began with regular lessons (including a Forest School session for our youngest learners), while pupils penned heartfelt thank-you notes to their teachers and pinned them to a special “gratitude board” in the playground. Around 10:00–10:30, visiting children from Maresme arrived to a warm welcome, joining ISCB classmates before break at 10:30.

At 12:00, the whole school formed a giant number “5” in the playground for a celebratory drone photograph. In parallel, pupils worked with Lucy to create a striking fabric mural—a hand-print “5”—later hung on the stage in the covered area for the afternoon festivities.
From 15:00, the playground transformed into a party zone with inflatables and face-painting by Soy La Fiesta. Adding a distinctly Catalan flavour, Josep, Ruth and the staff team prepared a delicious xocolatada (hot-chocolate treat), alongside snacks and drinks. Parents arrived gradually from 16:00–17:00, filling the campus with conversation and cheer.

At 17:00, the community gathered for a live concert and an enthusiastic rendition of “Happy Birthday”, followed by words of thanks and vision from Head of School María. As applause faded, the Formentera cake took centre stage; the candle was lit, the music resumed, and celebrations continued.
Though the skies hinted at rain throughout the day, spirits never dimmed. The event captured what ISCB has become in just five years: a safe, encouraging place where children are known and valued, and where international-mindedness, respect and curiosity shape daily life.
ISCB extends heartfelt thanks to its families for their trust and involvement, and to every member of staff, collaborators and friends whose energy and passion drive the school forward. As ISCB looks ahead, it remains committed to meaningful learning, every student’s flourishing, and to living the values of kindness, respect and love—every single day.
