We were extremely proud of Ariana De Goede, who recently took part in Barcelona Model United Nations, stepping confidently into the role of a global delegate with purpose and professionalism.
Representing Burundi in the General Assembly, Ariana engaged in thoughtful, high-level debate on two complex international issues. The first focused on expanding refugee protections at a time when many countries are facing growing migration restrictions and the rise of populist right-wing parties. The second explored militarisation in the Arctic, examining how increasing strategic presence is linked to resource competition and ongoing territorial disputes.
Throughout the conference, Ariana demonstrated maturity, clarity and strong critical thinking—listening carefully, responding respectfully and contributing with real insight. Well done, Ariana: your voice truly shone through, and you represented our school with distinction.
