Participation in the European Youth Parliament

A group of young students embarking on a trip to the European Youth Parliament, excited and ready for a unique learning experience.

A group of IGCSE students proudly represented the school at a regional session of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) held in Sant Cugat. This event offered an exceptional opportunity for students to debate pressing global issues, while developing key skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, and leadership. Working alongside students from other schools, they learned to express their ideas respectfully, build strong arguments, and engage in a formal debating environment that encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones. The school commends the courage, maturity, and dedication shown by our representatives: Ariana, Yasmin, Kateryna, Anastasia, Olivia, Boris, and Max, who embraced the experience with enthusiasm, openness, and a strong willingness to learn. Beyond the debates, this was a powerful experience in both personal and academic growth, and we are confident that the skills they gained will serve them well in their future endeavours.

The course is being designed to suit a range of age groups and ability levels, ensuring inclusivity and the development of physical skills. Through this project, the school aims to promote: ✔️ motor coordination and physical literacy✔️ teamwork and respect for the rules✔️ regular outdoor activity✔️ enjoyment of movement as a learning tool This new addition is expected to become a vibrant sports and social hub for the entire ISCB community.

Tipi Park: sports and community life for Secondary

Teacher and students playing squash peacefully on a cloudy day.

Secondary students took part in a dynamic and enriching sports day at Tipi Park, an annual event that has become a staple in ISCB’s school calendar. Throughout the morning, students engaged in a variety of activities including squash, tennis, karate, and spinning, all guided by qualified professionals who tailored the sessions to the diverse levels and needs of each student. This outing not only promoted physical activity and healthy habits, but also provided an opportunity to strengthen bonds between students and teachers in a relaxed, informal setting. Through sport, students developed key social skills such as teamwork, respect for rules, and perseverance—core values embedded in the school’s educational philosophy. The karate sessions were particularly memorable, with many students enthusiastically trying out round-house kicks and forward rolls, pushing themselves beyond their limits while having fun. Meanwhile, spinning and tennis tested their endurance and coordination, and squash brought high energy and plenty of laughter. Activities like these enrich learning beyond the classroom and contribute to creating a balanced, motivating and value-driven school environment.

Carnival celebration and solidarity at the White Run

Children dressed in colorful Carnival costumes, smiling and enjoying the festive atmosphere

The educational community of International School Costa Brava (ISCB) has enjoyed a week full of joy and values during the celebration of Carnival, where pupils and teachers showcased creative costumes in a festive and inclusive atmosphere. The week ended with the much-loved White Run, a solidarity race open to families, students, and staff. This year, the €407 raised will be donated to the Trenca Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the protection of the environment and the reintroduction of the black vulture in the Pyrenees. Once again, ISCB reaffirms its strong commitment to sustainable development and values-based education.
